Behavior

In shelters across America approximately 3 to 4 million pets are euthanized each year and of the 5 to 7 million pets relinquished yearly to shelters nearly half are due to behavioral issues.   In many cases, early intervention of these issues such as inappropriate chewing, urinating in the house, biting, excessive vocalization, and disobedience can decrease the unappealing behaviors and in some cases with consistency the behaviors can be eliminated completely.

Although we do not employ a board certified behaviorist many members of our staff take a special interest in behavior.   Most of our staff is available to answer basic questions about puppy training and obedience and a few of our staff members are available to do behavioral consultations here at the practice.

If you are interested in a behavioral consultation please contact our office to schedule an appointment.  After our staff has scheduled the appointment please fill out our Behavior Questionnaire and return it to our office via fax or email at least 2 days prior to your scheduled appointment.   For more information on the behavioral services that we offer please contact our office at 814-849-2211.
