Every pet, whether they are a dog or cat, young or old, can benefit from regularly scheduled physical exams, blood screenings, infectious disease screenings, urinalysis/sedimentation, and intestinal parasite screenings because they can reveal changes in their health that they cannot communicate themselves.
These exams and diagnostic screens along with evaluation of quality of life, immunizations, parasite prevention and dental care fall into the category of preventive medicine.
