Resolutions for People With Bunnies

January 1, 2021

Happy New Year! Are you starting out 2021 with a rabbit at your side? Why not include Floppy in your plans? This is a great time to take a look at your pet’s care regimen, and see if anything needs to be tweaked a bit. A local Brookville, PA vet lists some suggestions for bunny people below.

Top-Notch Cage

Does your little buddy have a roomy, comfortable cage? If Floppy could use a bit more space, plan to upsize her home this year. It’s also important to keep your rabbit’s habitat clean.

Lots Of Toys

One of the most important things you can do for your four-legged friend is to provide her with lots of chew toys. You can make many of these yourself. Look up some ideas for DIY chew toys, and try some you haven’t used before.

Bunnyproofing

Your fuzzy buddy will spend a chunk of 2021 nibbling on things, just as she did in 2020. Keep up with petproofing!

Free Time

Did you know that rabbits need at least 4 or 5 hours out of their cages every day? Make sure your little furball is getting enough playtime.

Beauty Sessions

Do you brush your rabbit? If not, this is a great time to start. This will not only remove dead hair from Floppy’s coat, it also gives you a chance to casually check your bunny over. If you do this regularly, you’ll be much more likely to spot things like lumps, bumps, lesions, and sore spots early on.

Veterinary Care

Your cute little pet needs regular veterinary care to stay healthy. In addition to regular exams, Floppy will need vaccines for myxomatosis, Rabbit (Viral) Haemorrhagic Disease (R(V)HD) and (R(V)HD) 2. Ask your vet for specific advice, including appointment schedules and signs of illness to look for.

Photo Ops

One thing we know for sure about bunnies: they are beyond adorable. Floppy takes some pretty charming pictures. Take time for a photo shoot with your furry pal this year!

Love

Last but not least, make sure your adorable pet feels loved and safe. Pay attention to her every day! Talk to her, pet her, and just hang out with her. Bunny love is a truly precious thing.
