Hi, my name is Josh. I live here at Brookville Veterinary Hospital most of the time. Sometimes, when a kid is sad that their pet has to stay in the hospital for the day or overnight, I go home with them to keep them company until their pet comes home. Please join me on a tour of our facility.
The Customer Service Representatives often offer me treats. They might even give you one too!
While you are here, don’t forget to look at the toys, treats, beds, and other pet care products!
We have 5 exam rooms that are set up similarly. Some pets are afraid of being here. But I know that everyone here wants to take care of me, so I don’t mind sitting on the exam table.
The Comfort Room is also part of the exam room section of the hospital but it doesn’t have a traditional exam table. It is used for consultations, laser therapy and euthanasia.
“The Lab” as I hear the staff call it, is a busy place. There are all kinds of gadgets and things in this room that beep and make other funny noises. The technicians and assistants use the lab equipment to run tests that help the doctors figure out what is wrong with us.
This area is set up primarily for dental procedures. But, the table is often used for other treatments when dental procedures aren’t happening. This picture is of me getting radiographs taken of my teeth.
This is the area of the hospital that blood draws, nail trims, anal gland expressions, ear cleanings and other minor procedures are performed.
This is where the dogs stay when here for surgery or hospitalization. There are several cages and runs so that each dog can be safely kept away from everyone else. Everyone gets a blanket to sleep on too!
I wasn’t allowed in here because apparently the cats don’t like me. They have a nice window to watch the birds and chipmunks!
When I came out of the cat ward I stopped by ICU to visit the surgical patients recovering there. This is also where the sick pets stay so that the team can keep a close eye on them.
When pets with contagious diseases have to stay at the hospital there is a special room just for them. Normally, visitors aren’t allowed in this room but since no one was in the room it was ok.
There is a window in this room so that the patients can be observed without entering the room.
The surgery tables are heated to help the pets stay warm during surgery. I had to put on a cap and mask so that I was allowed to go into the surgery room.
This room is imaging; it contains the radiograph machine and an ultrasound. I am told this equipment helps the doctor see our insides!
